Kaufman A4
LOCATION: Guanacaste, Costa Rica | AREA: 335 Sq. m.
YEAR: 2024 | STATUS: Under Construction
This residential project proposes a redesign of a house in Santa Cruz, Guanacaste, tailored to the specific needs of the owner, with a strong focus on biofilia and environmental respect. The design integrates natural elements throughout the home to enhance well-being and foster a deep connection with the surrounding landscape. Large windows and open spaces invite abundant natural light and fresh air, while the use of organic materials like wood and stone creates a harmonious atmosphere that reflects the beauty of the region. Greenery is incorporated into the design with indoor plants and strategically placed outdoor gardens, ensuring a continuous flow between the home and nature.
Key features include a spacious kitchen with a grill, a double-height living area that encourages relaxation and socializing, and a dining space for family meals or entertaining. The master bedroom will be on the first floor for privacy and convenience, along with a laundry area and a garage. The design ensures that these spaces are aligned with the natural contours of the land, minimizing disruption to the local ecosystem. The second floor will have three bedrooms and two or three bathrooms, with an enclosed outdoor bathroom for privacy. A powder room will be available for guests. The overall design will prioritize sustainable practices, such as rainwater collection, energy-efficient systems, and the use of locally sourced materials, offering a comfortable, functional home that not only blends with but also respects the natural beauty of the region.
